Let It Burn: The Tower Card Moment America Needed
My take on the mess we’re living through? It’s not just a political crisis. It’s a long-overdue reckoning—a necessary collapse.
The systems that are failing us now didn’t just become broken overnight. They’ve been cracked, rusted, and hollow for decades. What we’re experiencing isn’t just chaos for chaos’s sake—it’s the exposure of everything that hasn’t worked for a very long time.
And yes, it’s ugly. Yes, it’s infuriating. Yes, it’s terrifying. But if you’re paying attention, it’s also strangely hopeful.
Because this level of dysfunction—this regime’s shameless corruption, cruelty, and obsession with control—is the final flare of a dying system. This is what it looks like when an empire begins to crumble.
And while I’m utterly disgusted by what’s unfolding, I keep reminding myself: we’re witnessing the Tower card moment in America’s tarot spread. We have to let the old structure fall if we’re ever going to build something new—something better.
The 4 AM Club
I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but a lot of us—myself included—woke up around 3 or 4 AM after the 2024 election with a gut feeling that everything had shifted. Like the timeline split and we landed somewhere we weren’t meant to be. Call it delusion, call it intuition, but something felt off. And that feeling hasn’t gone away. If you’re on YouTube, I suggest looking up @giaprism and following her for more in-depth details on the 4 AM Club.
Still, deep down, I believe this is all happening for a reason. Not because we deserve suffering, but because we deserve peace. We deserve a government that functions. One that sees us. One that works for all people—not just billionaires, lobbyists, and whoever can shout the loudest in a Faux News segment.
This regime will fall. It’s already cracking under the weight of its own lies. And when it does, we’ll be left with the task of rebuilding—not just the institutions, but the values that were supposed to hold them up in the first place.
Rebuilding the Foundation
When I say “let it burn,” I don’t mean everything.
I mean the rot—the systems that never served the people to begin with. We need to burn down the lobbyist-funded policymaking, the performative bipartisanship, the endless war budgets, and the cruelty disguised as “freedom.” From those ashes, maybe we can build something real:
-
Universal healthcare, like every other industrialized country already figured out.
-
Universal basic income, because late-stage capitalism is eating itself and leaving millions behind.
-
A government that taxes the rich, not the struggling.
-
An electoral system that reflects the will of the people, not just whoever has the best Super PAC.
And most of all, we need Democratic leaders to stop playing nice with fascism. Enough with the pearl-clutching over decorum. Start matching fire with fire. Because if one side is playing chess and the other is flipping the board every time they lose, we’re not playing a fair game—we’re enabling tyranny.
Glimmers of Hope
I still believe in glimmers of light. Look at Zohran Mamdani’s win in the NYC mayoral primary. A democratic socialist not just running—but winning—despite the establishment shouting for his deportation? That’s a spark.
That’s a signal that the tide is starting to turn.
But if that spark is going to become a fire, we need unity. We need courage. And we need to stop pretending that the people trying to destroy democracy deserve our civility.
This is our Tower moment. Let it fall. Then let’s build something we’ve never had before—something truly for the people.
